Before presenting my selection with “The Best of 2020”, I would like to thank all my clients who trusted me and made me part of their most special day during one of the most difficult years in my career as a photographer!
2020 was a year of challenges in every way! Despite the small number of weddings, I was able to capture and capture many wonderful moments that became internationally recognized photographs. My work has been highly praised in some of the most prestigious sites for wedding photojournalism and artistic wedding photography.

Although important, this recognition is nothing without the recognition I receive from couples whose weddings I have the pleasure of photographing. Without their cooperation and unconditional trust, nothing would be the same!

Here are some of my favorite moments from the past year
I start with a selection of award-winning photographs from the International Association of Wedding Photojournalists (WPJA) in the Captured Moments category. This Association is one of the most long-established in the field of wedding photojournalism. Some of the most popular wedding photographers in the world have started their careers and received international recognition through this organization! The evaluation of the works is by an independent jury, photographers, editors of magazines and newspapers, photojournalists who have nothing to do with wedding photography.
According to the WPJA, documentary wedding photographers are primarily artists, in other words, their work could have a more artistic dimension. In Artistic Guild competitions, WPJA members showcase their other creative talents for portraits, arranged or casual but creative details.
I am happy to be ranked in the top 25 in the world (21st place) in the WPJA Artistic Guild rankings.
Here are the awarded photos according to the independent jury. All photos were taken in 2020 in different cities of Bulgaria – Sofia, Montana, Momin Prohod, Pernik.
Pre-wedding (engagement) photo shoots were also part of my portfolio in 2020.
Some of the shots were again awarded in a number of international organizations of which I am a member, and one of the photos was chosen among the finalists in the annual MyWed Awards.
Some of my photos taken before 2020 have been awarded in organizations such as Exception Photographers, This is Reportage, Inspiration Photographers. There I managed to qualify in the leading positions, along with many talented Bulgarian and foreign wedding photographers.
Two of my wedding stories (a selection of 20 shots from a wedding) were awarded on various sites. The first of them brought me a nomination in the Golden Lens Awards in the category Wedding Collection of the Year on the international site Inspiration Photographers. It is from the wonderful wedding of Snezhana and Alexander, which took place in 2019 at the Terra residence. You can view the wedding as a more detailed story in a BLOG.
The second awarded wedding story is from the wonderful forest wedding of Ina and Plamen, which took place in 2019 in the picturesque summer bar Bedouin, located in the Sevlievo Balkans. You can also see the wedding in more detail in the BLOG.
She was chosen by the jury of This is Reportage, an organization dedicated entirely to wedding reportage photography and captured moments.
